Adult Health Services The Adult Health Screening Services are provided for male and female adults 18 years of age and older. The purpose of this service is to screen for chronic diseases, including high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, diabetes, cancer and other chronic diseases as indicated. Cancer screening includes breast exams, pap with pelvic exam for women and rectal/prostate/testicular exam for men. Duplin County participates in the NC Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program. This program targets women ages 50-64. Free mammograms are provided to women who meet age and financial requirements. Services are by appointment only. Fees for services are determined by a sliding scale. Medicaid and Insurance are accepted. Did You Know? One in eight American women will get breast cancer during their lifetime. In North Carolina, breast cancer is the second leading cause of death for African American women. Early detection of breast cancer is the best protection and can reduce the number of deaths by 30% in women over 50. Every women is at risk for breast cancer, men too! Protect the ones you love and encourage them to get regular medical check ups and remind them to do self-breast exams each month!
