Health Education

The Health Education section of the Duplin County Health Department provides the clinic and community with resources and strategies for improving health. EDUCATION is a major key in helping people recognize their susceptibility to injury or disease, then learning how to modify behaviors to reduce one's risks of disease or disability.

"EVERYWHERE, EVERYDAY, EVERYBODY. Public Health Is Working For You!"

The mission of Health Education is to create personal health awareness, encourage lifestyle assessment, and to empower people to make healthy behavior changes for improved quality of life.

The Health Education Staff is available to speak on health related topics to community groups, individuals, churches, businesses, civic clubs, etc. The Health Educator can also help you plan, organize and implement health education programs, as well as, select educational materials appropriate for your organization.

The Health Education section likes to participate in community events and can provide educational exhibits and interactive health games to enhance your event.

The Health Education Staff strives to stay on top of the latest public health issues. If we don't have the information, we can refer you to someone who does!

If you have a public health question, call us at (910) 296-2130
