SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE CLINIC

Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) services are:

  • Available to all persons without regard to income, or place of residence.
  • Services are free.
  • Available Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
  • Seen by appointment.
  • Provided by:
    • Registered nurses (under supervision of MD)
    • Family Nurse Practitioner

Some Sexually Transmitted Diseases are:

  • Gonorrhea (GC)
  • Non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU)
  • Chlamydia
  • Syphilis
  • Herpes (HSV)
  • Genital warts (HPV)

Some which may be sexually transmitted

  • Trichomoniasis
  • Pediculosis Pubis

Some which are not sexually transmitted

  • Yeast
  • Bacterial Vaginitis
  • Tinea Cruris (jock itch)

Facts About Sexually Transmitted Diseases:

  • Are diseases spread during sexual activities.
  • Many people have no symptoms but can infect others without knowing it.
  • Can develop infections again and again if exposes to new infections
  • Can have serious and permanent consequences such as sterility, heart disease, paralysis and insanity.
  • Pregnant women can pass infections to unborn child.
  • Having testing and early treatment can limit problems and keep disease from spreading.
  • Most infections can be cured by right medicine but all sex partners need evaluations and treatment.

  • Medical history
  • Risk assessment
  • Physical assessment
  • Obtain appropriate lab test
  • Treatment provided according to approved protocols.
  • Education of clients on every visit individually and giving of written materials
  • Health Education Services are available as needed or as requested by persons or groups.
